Happy Red, White and Blue 4th!

I just recently learned (well in the last 3 years anyway) that close friends and colleagues John Adams and Thomas Jefferson both died on the same day, on July 4th. It was the same year our great nation was celebrating its 50th birthday, in part because of these two gentlemen.

Happy 4th of July and of course Happy Birthday America!

xxoo, Susan

  1. We went to the Tea Party in town today & Thomas Jefferson (sic) gave us this history ... I didn't realize it either. My DH knew tho.

May your holiday be full & blessed. TTFN ~ Marydon

  2. Susan,

I just had to contact you. I have seen you reply to Cheryl's posts a couple of times and every time I see your blog name, I crack up!!!!

I grew up hearing "Not the good scissors," from my mother who sewed, and of course ad nauseum I caught myself repeating it to my boys in their childhoods. I'm just getting back into the sewing end of things-I used to make everything from suits to wedding dresses and ski clothes, and I love it. My first non paying job was the costume designer at my high school (boy was I a sucker!! ) and my first paying job was at a fabric store. (So not please tell me- When did thread go up from 39cents a spool, and why do I need a bank loan to buy a Vogue pattern?????)
I'll be following your blog. Check out my new blog with mixed media goods (for now, no sewing yet) http://Bungalowbling.blogspot.com
or my original blog http://ShellinSnohomish.blogspot.com which is a bit of all of moi!!
Good kitty!! Can Louie teach my cat to stay on the chair and off of the clean linens on the dining room table?????

    Hugs in advance,
    Shell

  10. Dear Susan ~~ I hope you had a great 4th July holiday. Thank you for your comments and glad you had a laugh at the strange garden.
They would need a good water pressure to water it with a hose. Easier than the ladder.
    Take care, Love, Merle.
