Resolutions???

Some think of Spring as a new beginning. I think of January 1st as a new beginning. It is my time for reflection and growth. Now I don't make resolutions for obvious reasons but there is always room to resolve to be a better person. Over the last few years I have become just a wee bit neglectful of my friends. I have the usual excuses, all legitimate mind you but nevertheless just excuses. So this year I resolve to make more time for my friends.
(I see some chick flicks in my future! Hahaha)

This year I also resolve to write more letters. Yes, good old fashioned letters. My heart always skips a beat when I receive a letter in the mail from a friend. Thank you Barbara for keeping letter writing alive and well. I will always cherish your beautiful and inspiring letters.

And I look forward to spending this year with all of you and sharing a few laughs and probably a few tears. Most of all I look forward to the kindness and inspiration that is within each and everyone of you.

Happy New Year and many blessings to all my bloggie friends.

xxoo, Sue

P.S. I am making black eyed peas today. I am trying a new recipe. If it turns out good then I will share the recipe. I only use my family as guinea pigs. :)
I can hear them now, "gee thanks Mom".

I don't know what I am worried about I haven't had any complaints in years :) :) :)

  1. We are looking forward to spending more time with you also. I think we all somehow let our friends somehow come in last of our things to do. I know I speak for myself and have lost a dear friend because of it.
So Happy New Year and keep up the great post

  4. Hi! You asked me what camera I use? My December 28th post on Almost Retired Handbook features my new camera! My sweetheart bought it for me for Christmas and I love it! A Nikon C-90.

  6. I will get on my knees and ask God for a bit better year this year..although I am not complaining. Believe me. I am still here!

I think a lot of us have the same resolutions. I know I do.

The one thing I am resolved to do this year is "think positive.

My favorite resolution you made is to write letters. I loved that one!! I want to do that too..and I had a request from my oldest Granddaughter to do that...and I will try! Never been much of a letter writer! But..I am going to try hard!
Hugs and Happy 2nd day of our 2010..

  7. I admire your resolutions to nurture your friends and to send snail mail letters. Bravo, and I will find the time to do these two things too.
You are a good example in this :)

  8. Wonderful resolutions Sue! I feel the same. Letters are so much more personal than e-mail and seem to be a thing of the past. I need to write a few as well.

Thank you very much for your kind visit today. I always appreciate hearing from you.

Many blessings and a happy 2010 to you!

  9. I enjoy receiving old fashioned letters in the mail, too--although I am not the best at doing it myself. I hope that you and your family have a very happy new year!! Karen

  10. Yep! Spending more time with friends is on my list too..... Time just seems to get away. I love them so much and it seems like months go by without a visit. I think I'm busier at 59 than I ever was at 29.

And letters............I LOVE them. I have saved every single note anyone has sent me for about 40 years. Someday I'm going to re-read all of them. It is a thrill getting something in the mail, isn't it?

    Happy New Year!

    Big hugs,
    Spencer
