There are so many things to love about this time of year. The first sign of fall is when we are ready to decorate our homes in all the colors that seem to hug us. There is something very soothing about the colors of fall. These are the colors of nature after all.
Fall is a time to slow down. It is a time for Mother Nature to nurture us. It is time to take in everything she has to offer.
Fall deocrating can be so effortless.
Fall is apple pies. One of my guilty pleasures is a piece of apple pie for breakfast. Shhh, don’t tell anyone.
The first signs of fall bring the anticipation of Halloween. Whether it is helping the little ones choose just the right costume, or for me and my SH it is the anticipation of all the little ones that come to our door that evening, it seems young and old find Halloween fun. I still remember when our boys were little and how much fun we had making their costumes.
Like many of you I am ready for fall. I love everything about it. The fun, the traditions, the decorating, families coming together, the scents that fall brings with it, and the cooler weather. Oh yes, the cooler weather. I am of the age that I relish cooler weather, but that is for another discussion. LOL!

I enjoy your blog. As an avid gardener (flowers and flowering shrubs) and one that finds therapy in yard work, fall means the beginning of a slow death to my yard and my outside time. However, I do enjoy decorating for the fall and the fun activities of fall; football, roasting marshmallows around the backyard firepit, and the approaching holidays.
ReplyDeleteI know, I know! It was terrible here today! In the car it said 102 degree's. Miserable! No matter. This kid is getting out the Fall goodies...and going to enjoy it just as LONG as I can. That PIE!! OMG! It's the sort of apple pie that dreams are made of!!

I too am dreaming of Autumn and all it's comforts and then looking at the thermometer and just feeling sad. I am decorating and cheering every time a leaf flutters to the lawn. Hurry Fall, we are waiting!

Oh mY I don't like that type of heat at all. I do however love homemade apple pie anytime of day. Between Mona's candy corn and your apple pie, I'm feeling... um... puffy!!

Oh Sue....I so hope your fall comes soon. I agree....it's so pretty and crisp, isn't it? I love my summer plants and flowers, but by this time of year I'm sick of taking care of them....and ready for some cozy time.

ReplyDeleteOh YES! So ready. The trees are turning a bit here now. Normally our falls aren't too exciting. We get lots of wind so the yummy leaves don't last too long. Last year was an exception. It was SPECTACULAR. I so hope we get a repeat this year.
